2013 SURTEX designext® Grand Prize Winner

Participating in the SURTEX show in May 2013, was such an incredible experience for a young designer like me.  Being fresh out of school, it was a great opportunity to meet people in the industry who could help guide me and take my career to the next level.

Winning the designext® competition has given me so many opportunities to showcase my abilities and potential to all different industries represented at the show, such as baby apparel/bedding, home décor, giftware and women’s apparel.

My success at the show has been noted all over the design world press, both nationally and internationally.

I currently create textile and product designs for baby and child companies, such as San Francisco-based, The Little Acorn and North Carolina-based, Elegant Baby, where I am a full-time freelance textile/product designer. All my designs are currently selling at Saks 5th Avenue, FAO Schwarz, Buy Buy Baby and other retail establishments in the United States. I also worked on a project for Gisela Graham, Ltd., in London. Working as a freelance designer has been both a great experience and a challenge at the same time, but I love having a variety of projects and clients, which allows me to push my limits and develop my creativity to the highest level.

Luckily, I have the opportunity to work with Made by Un, a New York City-based design studio and have booked a couple of upcoming shows in New York. Made by Un will be presenting my latest designs in the upcoming SURTEX show. Please come and visit Made by Un in Booth 816.
